• Shoppers will not need to have an Avalanche wallet to buy NFTs, as they can make fiat payments following which they will receive a link to their newly-created Avalanche wallet.
Shopify, the leading e-commerce platform, announced on Thursday the addition of Avalanche support for its NFT minting app, Venly. This service, which was previously only accessible to select users, is now open to all merchants.
Using Venly, Shopify merchants can mint and list their NFTs through their storefronts, without having to refer clients to popular dedicated NFT marketplaces like OpenSea, Rarible, or Magic Eden. This will save them time and effort, as they can now use the Venly app to mint NFTs on Avalanche and list them directly on their store.
Shoppers who wish to purchase NFTs from a Shopify merchant don’t have to have an Avalanche wallet. They can make payments in fiat currency, after which they will receive a link to their newly-created Avalanche wallet holding the freshly-minted NFT, which they are free to transfer to another wallet.
Using Venly, Shopify merchants can not only sell NFTs, but also offer NFT-gated experiences or use NFTs for authentication by tying them to physical products. These NFTs are all minted on the Avalanche blockchain, which is a Layer-1 blockchain platform.
The integration of Venly with Shopify provides a great opportunity for merchants to list their NFTs on the store, without having to refer customers to dedicated NFT marketplaces. Merchants can now create their own NFTs on Avalanche and list them on their store without any hassle, while shoppers can purchase these NFTs in a secure manner, without having to own an Avalanche wallet. This integration is a step forward in the mass adoption of NFTs, and is sure to benefit both merchants and shoppers alike.
